After 21 (or more) New Years Days getting up early and sharing a great ride with great people - we're doing it again! Start the new year right and join your friends on some of the most beautiful roads in North Texas.

Join us once again in Palo Pinto for our 22nd annual ride on New Year's Day, Sunday Jan. 1st 2017 at 9:00 AM for a fun ride in the hills. We will again honor the memory of friends departed as we will ride past (and benefit from) the “share the road” signs, a visible reminder and memoriam for Iris Stagner, cycling advocate and friend, who we lost to a careless driver on September 17, 2012.

This ride features Cherry Pie Hill, virtually no traffic, no rednecks or dogs, in fact very little in the way of civilization ... perfect! The longer routes will go to Strawn, where there is a store open for us.

When: New Years Day starting at 9:00 AM with the annual ritual group photo

Where: Palo Pinto County Courthouse Square, US 180 @ FM 4 (directions below)

Why: Perfect time to start working on your New Year’s resolution, the first race of the year is only a few weeks away, you've never been out that way and you like an adventure, you're tired of the same old ride, you enjoy frostbite ... need I say more?

Who: YOU. All are invited... we go hard, we regroup, we go hard, we regroup .... all levels are welcome but this is an unsupported (but free!) ride

How long: The “short” loop is 42 miles, the longer ride is 67 … and some may want to add the Ward Mountain climb for a total of 75 …weather dependent**. I'll provide maps in case you want to quit early. If it’s raining/ snowing or below 25 degrees, check the radar or call me before you drive out there.
