About the FWBA
With more than 600 members the FWBA is one of the largest bicycling clubs in North Texas. The members are people like you who ride bicycles for recreation, fitness, and sport. The club has riders of all shapes, sizes, and skill levels. All Ages too! What do we do? Recreational bike rides in Fort Worth and the surrounding area. Our members ride bicycles: road bikes, hybrids, mountain bikes, tandems, and recumbents. We offer several types of regularly scheduled rides, so you can choose the ride that best suits your riding skill. Most weekend rides have designated leaders, and maps are handed out at the start of each ride. For newer or less experienced riders, the ride leader makes every effort to ensure no one rides alone.
About the Rides
The FWBA schedules group rides each Saturday and Sunday year round. Specific ride times and locations are listed in our monthly newsletter, the Paceline and on these pages. Rides vary from casual "social" events to longer distance "brisk paced" road rides. Mountain bike rides are organized at some of the local State Parks. Club members meet at several locations and times during the week also. First time riders can call and talk to the ride leader before riding any club ride. Check the Ride Calendar page for specific details.
Social Activities and Special Events
The FWBA also hosts a picnic, a Holiday Party Banquet, a few campouts and several special ride events every year. Many riders also get together after the rides to socialize at a local restaurant or even share a cold watermelon in the parking lot. These types of gatherings are always an excellent opportunity to meet and get to know other club members. See the Events page for more details.
Monthly Meetings
Club meetings are held on the first Monday of each month at 7:30 p.m. at the University of North Texas Health Science Center, Building #2, room 2-106. The board meeting starts at 6:30. Members may attend the board meeting also. If this conflicts with a major holiday the meeting may be rescheduled and announced well in advance. See the Monthly Meeting page for details and directions.
